This guy’s tattoo turns his body into a musical instrument

Have you ever considered your body to be a musical instrument? With the possible exception of your vocal chords, probably not. But for Moscow-based artist and engineer Dmitry Morozov, the answer to that question is most certainly “yes.”

Dmity’s “Reading My Body” project combines a barcode-like tattoo on his arm with a machine that rests on his forearm to perform a musical score of sorts. The machine has a scanner that reads the barcode to translate the tattoo into sounds, and Dmitry can change the pitch and tone by moving his arm around.

You probably won’t hear Dmity’s work on your local Top 40 radio station any time soon, but it’s a fun combination of man and machine. Visit Dmitry’s website to see more.
